About Us

The Foundation raises funds in several ways to support The Arc’s programs.  We have two thrift stores, one in Ventura and one in Oxnard, where shoppers can find new and slightly used items of all varieties including clothes, shoes, books, CDs and DVDs, small appliances and electronics, furniture, linens and sporting equipment.

At the Foundation we talk about “Cause and Convenience.”  We feel The Arc’s programs empowering Ventura County residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a great cause and we try to make donating to our stores convenient for you by coming to your home to pick up the donated items.  The Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit corporation, so all your donations are tax-deductible and 100% of our profits go to The Arc.

The Foundation also has a Planned Giving Program.  We greatly appreciate current charitable contributions as well as planned, future gifts.  Planned gifts provide donors the opportunity to create a legacy for themselves by naming The Foundation as a beneficiary in their will, trust, IRA or life insurance policy.

Partnering with local business is another way The Foundation raises funds.  The Foundation is always looking for ways to team up with local businesses to create a win-win relationship.  Monetary donations as well as contributions of products and services are ways businesses can help The Foundation.  Also, periodic donation drives, where The Foundation comes to your business on a quarterly or biannual basis and collects donations for our stores, is another way local companies can support The Foundation.
